The MPL Association is shifting its focus toward state policy makers with a new program—the National Advocacy Initiative. This comes at an important time for the MPL community as the deteriorating policy environment in the states is resulting in increasing attacks on established reforms.
The State of the MPL Market: Claim Severity Rises, Policy Price Increases Moderate
Every six months, the MPL Association’s Research and Analytics Department issues a report analyzing these metrics with valuable take-aways that offer industry stakeholders insights into the industry’s financial performance.
We are MIEC, an insurance company that provides medical professional liability insurance to physicians and acupuncturists in Alaska, California, Hawaii and Idaho. We are owned and operated for the benefit of our policyholders, which number almost 7,400. We were founded in 1975 by physicians during a time when commercial carriers withdrew from the market. Now, some 40 years later, we remain determined to provide our policyholders with low, responsible and stable premiums.
Under limited supervision, handles coverage inquiries of new and existing business and policy changes involving analysis and recommendation of risk acceptance, using independent judgment within the authority guideline and consultation with management and other departments as appropriate. Works with other team members to achieve department and company goals and objectives.
