Aon/MPL Association Benchmarking: MPL Staffing, Productivity, and Innovation Study

(Rockville, MD, October 3, 2025)—In collaboration with the MPL Association, Aon has recently launched a new benchmarking initiative for medical professional liability organizations. The study will analyze staffing levels, productivity, and expenses across key functions like sales, marketing, claims, and underwriting. The initiative will provide comparisons to MPL benchmarks and broader commercial alliance benchmarks, with results delivered by mid-December.

This project is the direct result of discussions held with members about the need for resources to evaluate the effectiveness of their operations and the desire for more specific staffing and productivity detail. MPL Association members will have the ability to immediately measure performance to assist with 2026 planning and then have access to measurements of further trends over time.

The MPL Association has partnered with Aon to provide an affordable option for companies of all sizes, and additional discounts of up to 50% off market rates will be provided to MPL Association members. In addition, as a special incentive, a foundational MPL Association member discount is available: Companies that commit to participation prior to October 10, 2025, will receive an additional 10% discount off the 2025 fees.
