NPDB Attestation: What Does It Mean for MPL Insurers?

Wednesday, February 27, 2019
2:00-3:00 pm ET (1 p.m. CT, Noon MT, 11 a.m. PT)

The webinar is FREE for MPL Association members. Click here for on-demand access.

The National Practitioner Data Bank (NPDB) was established by Congress in 1986 to serve as a repository of reports containing information on medical liability payments and certain adverse actions related to healthcare professionals. Healthcare organizations as defined by NPDB statute (referred to as “eligible entities”) are required to report to the NPDB. Eligible entities include medical liability insurers, as well as hospitals, health centers, health plans, and state licensing and certification authorities.

In a recent change, the NPDB is now requiring that all MPL insurers registered with the Data Bank attest that they are meeting their reporting requirements. To help the MPL community understand their obligations under this new initiative, this webinar will feature officials from the NPDB who will discuss what attestation is and how MPL insurers can complete the attestation process. In addition, the speakers will review what must be reported to the NPDB and answer questions about the reporting process.

You won’t want to miss this informative webinar that will provide key updates on how the new attestation requirement will affect your current operations, and what it will mean for your organization going forward.
