MPL Association Responds to COVID-19 Outbreak

In response to the coronavirus pandemic, the MPL Association has coordinated advocacy activities and led policy efforts to ensure that the MPL community’s needs are addressed. Here is a summary of those efforts. In addition:

  • The U.S. Congress approved a stimulus package to address the COVID-19 outbreak This bill included important protections of healthcare volunteers; a variation of the Good Samaritan Health Professionals Act was included in the Senate-passed bill.
  • The MPL Association will host a webinar on Wed., April 1 at 2:00 p.m. (ET) to discuss the latest updates on legislative and regulatory activity on the state and federal levels. Contact for an invite.
  • The Association sent a letter to Vice President Pence recommending further federal actions which could benefit MPL stakeholders.

MPL Association Conference, Leadership Forum Cancelled

The MPL Association has been actively monitoring evolving developments related to the coronavirus. Based on new guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the District of Columbia government, the MPL Association Leadership Forum and Annual Conference scheduled for May 6-8 in Washington, D.C., is cancelled.
